So. We went for a weekend trip to the mountains to meet cousins of mine there for a visit. I started getting car sick when we hit the mountain roads. I chalked it up to trying to read a map at the same time as it's not typical for me to get car sick.

Saturday morning, I poured a bowl of HoneyNut Cheerios with milk. They didn't go down very well. Pretty yucky actually. Hmmm, I wonder what that's all about.

On Sunday's drive home from the mountains, my stomach was questionable again. No map reading this time. Something is definitely going on.

When we got home, guess what the home pregnancy test told us?!? Guess? Yeah, we weren't figuring on that this month, but it doesn't take much, does it?

Anyway, my husband and I are thrilled and our 3 year old is as excited as a 3 year old can be about that kind of news.

Here's to the next 9 months...

Is The Simpson's Movie gonna be worth it, I wonder?

I remember when that wonderful, irreverent 30 minutes a week started years ago. I was in college and that was the favorite prime time pick for most of my cohorts. Here we are almost 2 decades later, and I still love to waste time watching that show. Yes, it's stupid and silly, but what a great way to unwind from a long work day with something totally mindless.

I suppose time will tell how good the movie is. I'm not setting any expectations for it. Hopefully that way I won't be disappointed. : )

Disconnected...

I think the different parts of my brain must be disconnected these days…
Here is one recent incident in a growing list of brain “malfunctions”:

My best girlfriend emailed me over the weekend and wanted me to come do a stamping party for her. What would any good friend do? Right, email her back. Well, I did not. I don’t know why I didn’t. I saw the email and read it, but it never “registered”. Maybe my 3 year old, as all proper 3 year olds will do, demanded my attention at that same split second I was reading the email and I just closed it without a second thought. Maybe my brain is disconnected. Maybe I’ve been trying to cram too much into it and it’s finally hit a stage of rebellion. Who knows? I’m probably just in denial that I’m getting older.

Anyway, I got a second email from my best girlfriend. She sent it to work this time. She knows I have to read my work email. As I started reading it, the bells started going off. Oh yeah. Christy emailed me and I never emailed back. Some friend I am. This time my brain stayed connected and I sent a reply. Fortunately, she’s a good friend and will forgive me one more time. What are friends for?

OK, so here goes. I don't enjoy writing all the time, but I started this so I could share some stamping with anyone who cares, and so I could be a little silly from time to time. Besides, "everybody's doing it".

Actually, I'm not one to just follow the crowd, but it was fun to say that.

So, my latest obsession is rubber stamping and swapping greeting cards, trading cards, and anything else you can stamp on. I'm a member of Splitcoaststampers.com. (They have galleries with all kinds of stamped items the members have made, forums where you can discuss about any topic, and tutorials for tons of stamping and other paper crafts techniques.) If any of you stamp or even do other paper crafts, check it out some time. It's addictive. On second thought, unless you have loads of extra time, stay away from it. I've been thinking about forming a support group for those of us who can't get away from the website. I should really start two groups, one for the members and the other for the spouses and boyfriends of the members. Maybe that second group should also allow the children, grandchildren, and pets of the said members. I wonder how many husbands and kids had to 'nuke a can of ravioli tonight for their dinner...
